In a raid carried out in Kaduna State, operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Kaduna zone detained seven suspected internet fraudsters.
The Head Media and Publicity of the Commission, Mrs Zainab Ahmed listed the suspects as Emuze Omosigho Emmanuel, Peter Olu Tsetimi and Ogunbiyi Adekunle A.
Others are Samuel Nana-Kofi Eruese, , Isaac Daro Obozokhai, Peace Manayin and Edward Yusuf who are aged between 20 and 33 years.
One of the suspects, who posed as an engineer working with Exxon Mobil, was arrested on false identities that he used to defraud people inside and outside Nigeria.
Ahmad said the arrest was made around 5 a.m. along Ihejirika Close, Karu,Following intelligence reports on the suspects ‘ shady practices.
Exotic watches, necklaces, costly phones, ipads, laptops and several fraudulent records are among the products retrieved from them.
She added that further investigation was underway while items and documents retrieved would be subjected to forensic analysis and charges would be brought against the suspects
