As preparations towards the 2019 general elections
gathers momentum, a senatorial aspirant for Kaduna Central senatorial
district on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC)
Hon. Usman Ibrahim has donated a campaign office edifice for the
reelection of President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Nasiru El-Rufai’s
of Kaduna state.
According to the senatorial hopeful who was a one time
Kaduna North local government Chairman on the Peoples Democratic Party
(PDP) said it had become necessary for Nigerians with progressive minds
to contribute in any from towards achieving a second term for President
Buhari considering his numerous achievements since he assumed power in
2015.
He also averred that President Buhari and Governor
El-Rufai were two individuals who has left no one in doubt through their
positive footprints in the course of serving the public.
“The President and Governor eL-Rufai deserves a second
term for continuation of the good developmental projects they have
embarked on to avoid a situation where initiated and ongoing projects
are truncated halfway.
“The youths empowerment programme which provides an
avenue for teeming unemployed Nigeriang graduates to be engaged and paid
stipend of 30,000 Naira monthly. While some are engaged in different
vocations so that they would be self-reliant.
“Look at road construction going on across all the
regions of the country. Some have been completed while others are
ongoing” he said.
“The fight against Corruption, insurgency and
indiscipline in the public sector among others are some achievements of
the present regime.
“Nigeria has been turned into a giant construction site
where priorities have been given to areas that need urgent government
intervention such as road construction and dualization”.
On Governor El-Rufai, the Senatorial aspirant said, “in
Kaduna State, we are privileged to have a Governor who has through his
ingenuity changed the outlook of Kaduna. Governor El-Rufai has embarked
on road construction and dualization in Kaduna Metropolis and across the
three zones.
“Almost every sector has been touched by the action
Governor of the state despite critics from other politicians in the
state, he is not discouraged to fulfill his core pledges to the good
people of Kaduna state.
“Critics of the Governor are doing so on political and
selfish ground. They are not doing so on objectivity, fairness rather,
they are angry with the Governor because he has stopped what was
accruing to them as “Settlement” from former leaders in the state.
“I implore Kaduna people not to be deceived by these
politicians whose motives are selfish and self-centred. They don’t have
the interest of the people at hearts. They capitalize on sentiments to
gain sympathy of the people to achieve their goals thereafter; the
people would realize their true colours” he said.
Hon. Ibrahim the senatorial hopeful said if elected, he
will replicate at the Senate the praise-worthy achievements of President
Buhari and Governor El-Rufai.
“The era where elected representatives to the National
Assembly would accumulate and corner constituency allowances and use
them for other personal expenditures is over, I will make a public
accountability my code of conduct to avoid being swayed away by personal
ego at the detriment of my constituency whom I would be serving.
“I intend to operate an open door policy where I will
have a consistent interaction with all categories of people in my
constituency by regularly making myself available and accessible to my
constituencies to bridge communication gap that exists between the
elected political office holders and their electorates”.
He also assurred to give priority to youth empowerment, creating job opportunities, healthcare services, education among others.
